FLAXSEED Ingredient Spotlight

Flaxseeds are an incredible superfood that have grown in popularity in the US in recent years. They have incredible health benefits and can be found in whole seed, ground or in the form of oil.

Earlier civilizations such as the Ancient Egyptians and Babylonians cultivated flaxseed to make linens and to eat as well. Flaxseeds are rich in macronutrients like protein and fiber and a number of vitamins and minerals. They’re also rich in omega-3-fatty acids.

Omega-3-fatty acids nourish hair follicles and shafts, improving hairs’ elasticity. This also adds strength and prevents breakage, which is great for those with fine hair. As the follicles and shafts are nourished, hair is conditioned and helps to bind moisture to the shaft, reducing frizz.

Flaxseeds are rich in Vitamin E which is great for hair and skin. It has antioxidant properties that aid in scalp health and heal damaged hair follicles, creating a great environment for hair growth.

Flaxseed helps to balance the pH and over production of the sebaceous glands. It contains lignin’s which reduce inflammation and slow down the enzyme that leads to hair loss.

Flaxseed is also used to add hold and definition to hair.l It moisturizes curly/kinky hair without creating a crunchy stiff feeling. That’s why we’ve included it in our Strawberry Cream Hair Moisturizer, Creamy Leave-In Conditioner and Chamomile Chai Dry Hair Elixir. All great for hair and scalp!
