Hair Tools You Just May Need

When it comes to hair, having the right tools can make or break a style. LaJAshley created a “great place to start” list of tools to make styling simple and efficient.   1. Shampoo Massage Brush Using your nails normally lead to ripping and tearing the skin when cleaning hair. A shampoo brush was designed to give you a gentler experience, allowing for a more  easier and productive  shampoo experience. They also spread shampoo evenly throughout hair and promote blood circulation. 2. Steamers Hair steamers can range from the big hooded steamers you see at the salon to handheld streamers like Q-Redrew. How Coloring Affects Hair

Love coloring/dyeing your hair but hate how damaging it is? Well, we’re here to help! We created a simple guide to first understanding what color is all about and then some key tips on maintaining it.   Permanent Color When permanent hair color is something you love or want to explore, chemicals are involved (whether your lightening or darkening hair) and will chemically alter your hair. These colors remain until hair grows out or you decide to change the color.   Bleaching/Hair lightening Unless your hair is already a lighter color, (generally blonde) hair strands would need chemical agents such as bleach, ammonia or peroxide to achieve a lighter hue. Ingredients to Avoid and Why?

Sulfates Sulfates are commonly found in shampoos because of their highly foaming and detergent abilities. Most of us have been accustomed to thinking that for a shampoo to be good it must have a lot of foam.  Sulfates come in many forms but the most common and harmful is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). INGREDIENTS TO AVOID

At this point, most of us have heard of the few basic ingredients that we shouldn’t put or use on our hair and bodies and I’m sure once you’ve read the title, three immediately  rang off in your head. The reason for this “hyper-sensitivity” is due to the scalps ability to  absorbs nutrients (as well as harmful chemicals, ugh!) when products are placed on it. Have you ever used a product, it worked well, then all of a sudden, it didn't work the same or your hair became more brittle, dry... weak? When products don't contain quality, effective ingredients, they can in the long run, cause harm to your hair and even body. Just like the scalp, the body is also...
